Every year Bonsai art attracts more and more enthusiasts and many of the beginners prefer to start with bonsai ficus tree. It is not so hard to cultivate these miniature trees. Their owners receive satisfaction from this hobby and develop the feeling of natural beauty and harmony.
The Bonsai ficus tree is among favorite trees used for the so-called “miniature Bonsai art” due to its advantages compared to other bonsai tree species. Except of its high resilience, this plant can be easily manipulated to form a “miniaturization”.
It’s essential to start with a good and healthy ficus. If you are not sure how to distinguish the right one from others, simply ask the nursery staff for help. This is how you’ll learn the most. They have a good knowledge of different plants and they will be able to recommend you the most appropriate ficus for your projects. Talk to experts and you’ll soon become one. At this point, you are ready to start working on the bonsai ficus tree.
The first thing is to re-pot the new bonsai ficus tree in appropriate container. If you would like it to be a table tree, choose a very small pot. In case you intend it to decorate the corner or a shelf, choose the larger one. Keep in mind that the size of the bonsai ficus tree will depend on the size of the pot. Do not forget to choose a container, which will match the room decor and will be nice addition to the furniture.
Proper fertilization and watering are essential for the bonsai ficus tree, but do not water it for the first two days. This will allow the plant’s roots to strengthen and the process of transferring it to another pot will become much easier. Put rocks in the bottom of the new pot then soil in its base to prepare it for ficus planting. Then pour soil all around the roots in order stabilize the tree. The quantity of soil you’ll put in the pot will determine the size of your plant as it gets its nutrients from this soil.
The bonsai ficus tree art depends on good understanding of a special symmetry: the soil amount, the pot size, and appropriate tree care as well as additional elements to form a beautiful ficus masterpiece.
